War is not the answer, because only love can conquer hate
Musician Marvin Gaye died in tragic circumstances: he was shot during a row with his elderly father.
The singer died the day before his 45th birthday. However, the sadness of his death should not overshadow the huge achievements of his career.
Born in Washington DC in 1939, he was a hugely talented musician and a leading Motown artist of the sixties, seventies and eighties.
It is through his music that we best know Marvin Gaye today. His most famous songs include I Heard It Through The Grapevine, What’s Going On (which features the refrain “Father, father, father”), Sexual Healing, Let’s Get It On and It Takes Two.
Marvin was certainly a wise man too, once proclaiming: “If you cannot find peace within yourself, you will never find it anywhere else.”
