I want to be a good wife, a good mother, a good person
The sudden death of Peaches Geldof came as a tremendous shock to many. The young mum of two was only 25 and seemed to have the world at her feet, with a flourishing TV, journalism and modelling career. Her life seemed full of promise.
Peaches was the second daughter of Boomtown Rats singer and Live Aid founder Bob Geldof and TV presenter Paula Yates, who divorced in 1996. Peaches had been aged just 11 when Paula died from an overdose. An inquest found that Peaches, too, had died after taking heroin.
Sir Bob said that the family was “beyond pain” losing Peaches.
Paying tribute to his golden girl, “she was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us,” he said.
“We loved her and will cherish her forever.”
