Don’t be sad for me, because I’m not sad
Never afraid to go one step beyond, Ryan Dunn was a stuntman and a star of the hugely popular TV stunt show, Jackass.
Born in Ohio, Ryan started filming his own stunt videos after he moved to Pennsylvania. Like his co-star Johnny Knoxville, Ryan soon became notorious for participating in any number of outlandish stunts on Jackass. Often dangerous, usually painful and definitely not suitable for family viewing, for those who had strong enough stomach to watch, Ryan’s pranks were highly entertaining.
By the time of his death in a car accident - an incident wholly unrelated to the series - he had been branching out into films having already appeared in the first three Jackass movies.
He once told fans: “I’ve accomplished everything I wanted out of life, like way beyond my wildest dreams. Anything from here on is just icing. Seriously, if you find out that I died tomorrow, I’m fine. Don’t be sad for me, because I’m not sad. I died with a smile on my face.”
